Useful information about the Sri Lanka ETA
Here is the essential information to prepare your Sri Lanka ETA application.
ETA validity
The tourist Sri Lanka ETA is valid for 30 days from the first arrival, with double entry permitted. On the second entry, only the remaining balance of the 30-day period is granted — the count does not restart. Maldivian nationals benefit from a 90-day period.
Documents required on arrival
Every ETA holder must be able to show a round-trip ticket (for air travel) and proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay in Sri Lanka.
Yellow fever certificate
Depending on your recent travel itinerary, a yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required on arrival, in accordance with the International Health Regulations.
Stay extension
For a stay longer than 30 days, an extension must be requested after arrival in Sri Lanka, directly from the Department of Immigration & Emigration.
No employment allowed
ETA holders may not engage in any employment, paid or unpaid, other than the purpose specified in their authorization.
